In time, the models these sites use may change or better examples may come along. With so much quality content on the web distinguishing yourself enough to be able to charge is difficult. Most sites are unable to charge for anything until they are established.

To begin with no reputation and start charging is inadvisable. You mention HotorNot&#039;s success. This is true, Hot or Not has been very successful however, as you mention this is very different to citizen journalism There is not dating aspect on such sites.</description>

They both release their video products to paid members first and to everyone else a few days later.  RvB also makes higher quality editions of their product available only to paid members.</description>
