Berkman Center in 10th Year; Planning Workshops

September 4th, 2007 by Dan Gillmor

I’m at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society today for the first fellows meeting of the academic year. As before, it’s an honor to be part of this group.

This fall and winter I plan to hold some workshop/unconferences on citizen media, looking at several key issues in the arena including trust and techniques. I’ll have more to say on these soon.

*IF* you want anything besides a Kool-Aid fest, I suggest you invite at least a few people who work at normal jobs for a living, rather than either a) being rich enough to indulge a high-class hobby or b) looking to be a shareholder or tradesman of digital-sharecropping plantations
(these conditions eliminate a surprising number of the usual conference-crowd, which should tell you something …)
[disclaimer, I am not suggesting myself]

Of course, I said “if …” there :-(
