An interesting crowd will be gathering next month in Memphis, Tennessee, for the National Conference for Media Reform. I’ll be speaking about citizen media.
The first two National Conference for Media Reform events — in Madison, Wis., in 2003 and St. Louis in 2005, were notable for the lack of attendance by many folks in mainstream media. Memphis is going to be different. In an effort to foster the MSM-reformer dialog, Geneva Overholser, Chris Peck, Stephen Silha and Mike Fancher, among others, are convening a two-day “Journalism that Matters” session which begins on Thurs., Jan. 11 and overlaps the media-reform conference by one day.
