Dan, this is emblematic of one of the key problems I've found with the Cit-J/Web 2.0/Wedia "movement." There seems to be an unfounded expectation of utopia that defies all traditions of human interaction.

We had our own, albeit smaller and less acrimonious split in our group, and it was briefly polarizing -- even traditional media outlets seemed astounded -- shocked! -- that people in this space could have differences of opinion or focus.

Cit-J is a wonderful thing. But it is a human thing, created by and maintained by humans and subject to all their foibles and innovations alike.
